I've been working with knives since 2005, and for blade production I prefer carbon steel as well as laminated "damascus" steels. These steels oxidize but hold their edge and are easy to sharpen.

Create a cutting tool to accompany you on your natural and culinary escapades.

Design, forge and assemble your own carbon steel straight knife in just one day with me in the workshop.
The morning is devoted to making the blade; drawing the silhouette of the product, then cutting the steel, forging the blade on the anvil, shaping the cutting edge (grinding), drilling the handle and tempering.
In the second part, I choose from my stock the piece of local wood that will be used for the handle. From this sketch, you create your volume for a perfect grip, and finish the object with the final sharpening.

The knife-making workshop consists of making your own kitchen knife in a professional and creative environment. No matter what your skills or knowledge, you can participate in this workshop. I've designed a comfortable program where all participants receive help according to their abilities.
