After the Place des Corps Saints in Avignon, the seasonal room focuses on another painting by Avignon painter Alfred Lesbros, an oil painting entitled 'Ancienne route d’Aramon' (364 cm x 453 cm).
Alfred Lesbros (Avignon 1890 - Avignon 1940) is a Provençal master who belonged to the Group of Thirteen, a group of Avignon painters and sculpturs in which included Clément Brun, Claude Firmin, Jean-Pierre Gras and others, betwee n1912 and 1913. He was close to Jules Flour and Pierre Grivolas abd was influenced by the major artistic trends which swept the early 20th century, from Impressionnism to Cubism. Within the Avignon school, he stands apart due to his formal and chromatic boldness.
